Don’t miss the chance to visit the Cannery Beaches during your vacation in Cabo San Lucas
Cabo San Lucas has some of the most beautiful beaches of Baja California Sur, some of which have become icons of Mexico like Lover’s beach and Medano beach, but you can’t leave Los Cabos without visiting the Cannery Beaches, one of the greatest places to enjoy the sun and swim in their clean water.
The Cannery beaches are 3 beaches located near the Cabo San Lucas Marina entrance:
- Playa Balcón / Balconcito Beach
- Playa Coral Negro. This beach is also known as Cannery Beach, Locals Beach, or Playa Empacadora
- Playa Escondida / Hidden Beach
The most popular one is Playa Coral Negro, aka Cannery beach. This name has great historical importance because it was given by the locals after an old tuna cannery that was located in the area many years ago and used to be the leading commercial activity of Cabo.

Experience Cannery beach (Playa coral negro), hidden beach and el balcón beach in a private catamaran
The three cannery beaches are Playa Coral Negro, El balcón, and Hidden beach. “El balcón” is also known as balconcito beach. The cannery beaches are the best beaches in Cabo for swimming because of their location on the Sea of Cortez side of the peninsula.
Playa Coral Negro and el balcón beach are the most popular of the cannery beaches and a must-visit during your stay in Cabo San Lucas. With a sandy shore and calm water, these are great beaches if you want to swim or practice snorkeling and paddleboard. Visitors also enjoy sunbathing and playing games on the sand.
Balconcito beach is accessible only by boat, so it is considered a semi-private beach, it is a great point to enjoy the beauty of the Sea of Cortez and swim among colorful fish. Same with Hidden Beach.
Our private sailing tours are the best way to visit the cannery beaches and all the amazing landmarks of Los Cabos without the crowds and on a fully adaptable experience.
